“A time to rule, a time of defilement, a time to encompass the earth in the name of those before us”
Kthougna - Created of nothing, Defiler of man
It started, that first conscious thought. A pressing matter of understanding. Of acceptance. It was easy for the demon to form. It was merely a thought created, drawn up for the purpose of watching man and how man formed. A witness in the passing of time that seemed meaningless.
Kthougna just began. There was no guidance of creation. No guidance of purpose. It simply wasn’t. And then it was.
Y'golonac was thought to have a hand in the creation of Kthougna. The demon’s attachment to the defilement and impulsive temptation was created with it, surrounding it’s form with a glowing aura of it. The demon itself did not know. It only knew that it simply wasn’t. And then it was.
Kthougna held no true form. A mix and mash of ideals, horrors, lacking gender, lacking substance, merely the view of the beholder surrounded by the aura of defilement.
Eons. Time imoratium. Mankind catching the interest of the defilement, and entertainment to begin for the demon. It enjoyed watching man stumble and fall, to try to understand the world that was created. At times, the demon would create a vessel, to absorb into it, and join in the defilement of man, to feast upon the folly and the willfulness that was always just out of place. False gods, worship, it didn’t matter, there was always a pride that drew the demon’s attention the most. A pride that the demon wanted to possess for its own.
Mankind became a plaything. An experiment to dabble and watch, much like others of her own kind. It watched how others acted with the beasts of meaningless folly, it learned. These humans with sticks and rocks, learning, sometimes with guidance, sometimes with manipulation, to make those rocks into tools, to make those tools work further for the small insignificant race, and soon, to understand and to question the cosmos.
It Kthougna had many vessels through time. Finely wrought and created from eons of passing time, one that would alleviate it’s boredom with the world of man. For what is there to do for a demon who can do anything it wishes? That is greater than the sum of man?
Kthougna wasn’t a Great One, but an elder from it’s time since creation, even still an insignificant one.
Many times, a female human form, for the demon found it to be the most complex. White, much like the powers of the word seemed to turn towards in the beginning age of races being separate. Other times, male, the novelty and difference of it, but giving understandings of both sides of mankind. And some, nothing at all.
Gadvoeh, born circa 10000 B.C.E., Star Carr - Present Day England
Kthougna stretched, various forms taking place within the void when the first draw to mankind was felt. The first breath of pride, the need of wrath. It knew that it did not exist, then it did, and now, it knew why. The purpose of mankind, and the secret of life that humans sought and cherished. Kthougna knew these things.
Kthougna’s form was not like man as breath was first taken amongst the humans. No vessel, but a true form, shapeless, blotting out the sun as man threw spears upon it’s surface, only to bounce away. Obsidian like, unmoving.
Man grew to worship the form that did not respond, merely witnessed. Man grew to call it Gadvoeh, offering sacrifice at it’s base, sacrifice upon it’s exterior. Claimed magic from it, in exchange for protection that was never needed.
Years, thousands upon count, generations giving of themselves to Gadvoeh, worshipping, speaking upon control as if the words came from the silent Gadvoeh it’self. Yet the pride was heavy, ever so present, feeding the form, as well as the folly of man with lust, gluttony, greed, wrath, sloth and envy. Man created the energy that fed Gadvoeh and it’s kind, in so many different visages and forms, scattered across four winds.
Earth moved, Gadvoeh cracked.
The ground took upon the form, the monolith that once was worshipped, now forgotten.
Gadvoeh ceased to exist, returning Kthougna to the void.
Kreknia, Born Circa 5000 B.C.E., Carpathia, - Present day Ukraine.
She was the chieftan’s first wife. She bore him strong sons, and one daughter, which grew cherished and claimed by the priestess, intention to be guided to hold wise council in the tribe.
Kreknia felt full, the pride of her tribe surrounding her, her sons growing steadfast, learning cultivation and hunting, providing for the tribe.
She never spoke, finding no need for it, stoic beyond compare, even when her husband caroused on the fermented berries. She never spoke, a pride of the cheiftan.
She spoke once.
Humanity attached within her words, a flaw and folly as the priestess took her daughter for sacrifice to the gods for a bountiful harvest.
She spoke once, a curse to the priestess and her kind before Kreknia’s life was taken as well.
Pisistratus, Born 608 B.C.E., Athens - Greece
Three attempts at tyranny.
Planned marriage. Trickery to pass a common woman off as a goddess.
Pisistraus, Brought down by Bribing the oracle to convince Sparta to liberate Athens. False guidance, ousted and exile.
A comedy, though tyranny, a meekness and gentle answer to the question asked.
The vessel grew boring, short lived, and discarded for return to the void.
Cassia Tacitus, Born 260 A.D., Terni - Italy
Daughter of a senator, married to a ruler. Cassia was Kthougna’s whispering to a moment of power.
Cassia spoke of goths and barbarians, pushing her husband to sieze control, to take the election of the senate and to kill the previous rulers assassins. Justice, vengance and pride within each stroke, she further pushed, whispering in their bed chamber, of the witchcraft the Gauls were controlling and wielding.
It didn’t take much to push her husband, Marcus Claudius Tacitus, Gothicus Maximus, to face off with the Gauls, furthering the pursuit of war.
It was when Marcus tasted upon her blood, her menses, that the corruption started to take hold, the madness, leaving him to ramble upon for days at a time, finally succumbing to his madness in his own death.
Emma of Normandy, Born 984, Normandy - Present Day France
Kthougna chose a queen in her own right, raised to high standards and a queen of greater countries, a valuable issue and steady to her marriage to the Unready as well as the son of his foe.
A trying time, whispered magic power from the Danes, as well as the interior, swaying power and control, she knew her first husband, as un trained and untried as he was, would likely fail once he gave tribute to the enemy, only to flee from country. Finding this abhorring, she began to plot, whispering, and even bedding her future husband, planning to end the cowardice, something annoying to the demon within, next to that of those whom casted about magic.
Eleanor of Castile, Born 1241, Burgos, Castile - Spain
A taste for power, the demon found it’self drawn to the rule of great men, and many not so great. It enjoyed a position of power itself, yet not in the forefront, letting others take blame and fall, becoming slovenly itself in many forms.
Eleanor, becoming a powerful pawn in a political alliance with her husband, Edward I of England. She learned to travel and enjoy it. The Ninth Crusade, a takedown of the magical rumor and power through the lands.
She grew fond of her husband and his work, so much as to draw the poison from his wound. She held power in business, the title of Countess of Ponthieu, luxuries of education and cultural influence. This became a key ability when in Palestine during the crusade, whispering, encouraging her husbands men to take upon pillage of magically touched women.
Joan of Kent, Born 1327, Woodstock Palace, Oxfordshire - England
The demon found a cycle, the same similar seat of power, though starting in the current vessel at an early age, someone over twice the vessel’s age, without the proper consent.
Joan took another husband while the first was on campaign, and after some time, it was annuled for her to take back to the first until his untimely death. She took another, marrying within the year of her husband’s death, this time a Prince.
There was a dabble within the constraints of her marriage, and her children, many at odds with eachother, to include the future king Richard II. This held well to distract and occupy the country, faced with the Black Death at the time, for Joan to give whispers, the plague doctors to investigate, to not treat the ill, but to ward sicker the healthy, to let it spread into chaos across the land.
Ayla Dorn, Born 1450, European Interior - Austria
A time when fear ruled, and ruthless battles fought, and defilement on a greater order, threaded with delicious pride.
Henrich Kramer had become a lover of Ayla Dorn. Ayla consumed the pride that Kramer had built around himself, his psychosis of debauchery in those ways of Innsbruck. It was Kramers obsession that Ayla Dorn sought to push, to feed from, to create something of entertainment. To write his thoughts, and how they should be handled. A seedling of an idea formed. A seedling planted of women who practiced darkness against the rising pressure of the church.
A laughable thought. Religion. False gods. How man bowed to obey and give penance and self flagellation for the impure thoughts. Ayla Dorn took her enjoyment from watching this, it made sense that men would do much the same to women, blaming them for things that were not understood. Magic. Witches.
Malleus Maleficarum - The Hammer of Witches
Perhaps it was Kramer’s own twisted mind that put it into writing. Perhaps it was a suggestion from his debauched lover Ayla Dorn.
It proved to be entertainment for many years to come.
Ferenc Nadasy, Born 1555 - Savar - Kingdom of Hungary
Kthougna felt the pull once more, though in times, the power is held by a woman, influenced by a man. Another vessel taken in it’s adulthood, already married to a cherished bride of Bathory descent whom kept a pet cat that seemed to always watch in silence.
A marriage of convenience, arrangement by cousins shared, holdings earned and land taken. The castle was one of pride, the power that his wife had held in cruelty.
Though upon campaign, wars fought, duties, it was often when he returned home that he would watch, relish the moments, relish the things his wife did to servants. The wrath she gave, the envy of youth and beauty.
Fernec soon found himself bringing her new servants, maids, and even young women of nobility that he took to his bed on the long roads home…. Given to the sadism of his wife so he could feed off of her emotions, her pure gluttony, her pride in her work
A battle, early within the century, Kthougna grew tiresome and bored. The death of Nadasy was unknown causes, a mysterious illness. Left behind in corruption of the body as Kthougna returned to the void.
Marie Tavenett, born 1611. Bamberg - Germany.
The demon had drifted through time, watching the hysteria that followed many of the things written in the Maleficarum. An enjoyable pastime, dabbling, feeding of the pride of those prosecuting.
A folly, too complacent into her games and toys of mankind. Believing she was above all others upon the planet, for she was much older and wiser than any man. Her own pride her own undoing.
And a true distaste for the ones that used magic in truth. Not the ones she laughed as they were hung and burned. But those whom were the accused and true to it.
Man couldn’t possibly know that natural creation and evolution caused for the ice age that ruined crops. Marie Tavenett, a bishop’s lover, feasting upon the pride the clergyman held for his position. Marie Tavenett simply existing for the pleasure of what radiated off of him, what drew her into the addiction of it.
She was accused, one of many accused. Temptation of the good bishop, destruction of the crops. Surely the devil had a hand in such things, when for once… No demonic form had a hand in the events.
Marie Tavenett died in the malefitzhaus holding the accused in trial. Documented of a lung illness, marked as proof of her being a witch. Marie had returned to the void, simply to slumber and grow bored once more.
Christina Lapoint, born 1670 - Salem Mass.
Awaking within the void once more, simply becoming to exist much like it’s creation, Kthougna watched and witnessed the change of the world over the short years she was absent. Man had reached out over the globe, and had for some time, but it was the puritan settlements in the new world, the hunger for gold and riches. The desire to escape the European controls.
Christina Lapoint, created into a regal frame with hair masked with a darkness to make her seem one of the many gloomed and bleary faces of the settlements. Cotton Mather, a secreted lover under the guise of puritan authority. Filled with pride for his work in the hunting he did on suspected witches. Christina Lapoint could whisper, tell him whom she thought was using magic, and whom she thought was not. Sewing chaos into the fold.
A woman had crossed her path once, accusing her of licentious behavior with the good Minister, speaking the truth of which only a spellcaster could know. Goody Glover only spoke about Christina and Cotton once before her fate was sealed by the good Minister.
A distaste continued to grow for the spellcasters, their pride was plentiful to feast upon, but they grew beyond their understanding of their place in the world. They grew beyond the use of entertainment, thinking higher of themselves than any demon would dare allow. Yet, in this time, man had taken to decide that women were lesser. Fragile. Yet capable of such power as well.
Christina did not know how many women that she whispered names to Cotton Mather were actually witches. She didn’t care. She had been accused of being in league with the devil, a much lesser being if the thought existed and wasn’t put there by her own kind. She was no longer bored, a purpose for her to dabble and entertain herself finally given.
Christina Lapoint relished at watching the women burn. The way that the magic and pride seemed to run from the flames, replaced by the defilement of fear. She played chess with the humans lives, and relished it.
A call, the sounding to return to the void, shedding the mortal form, Kthougna parted from the material plane, floating once more in nothingness of existence at the time that man was declaring self independence from it’s motherland and wars took the planet. It waited, no longer wanting to feast on just the pride of man, but the true pride of the witches, the spell casters.
And then. It’s own pride, once more taking upon the mantle of a vessel, created in man’s own image. No longer were there wars of necessity and pride, but wars of want and expectation. Yet, It chose once more, a female vessel, finding the manipulation of man enjoyable when the vessel was appealing.
Mary Jane Kelly, Born 1863, Whitechapel - England
A vessel to overcome, to possess, taking place in the poorest sections of the city, the streets. Kthougna never seemed to care the class position of those it played at, but merely, what could be fed from, and the entertainment held.
A different time, a companion, feline, that followed where she went. Once more, she disliked the presence of the companion, caring little to have to care for something. She had married, a coal miner named Davies, and found herself easy to settle into the ways of the city, thriving on the gluttony that carried about. The desire to destroy the spell casters was not as heavy, but a back seat in her mind, using this opportunity to learn and study man.
Hunters. Those whom wished to be rid of her kind, and the kind of those she hunted. Never expecting of a hunter in Whitechapel, never expecting she was in suspicion save for the felline that followed her. One man to the next, business as usual. Men spoke in pillow talk. Rich men as well.
The vessel was found the next morning, cries of Murder! Ringing up most foul, with the vessel mutilated, marked, violated. Genitalia marred, blood over flesh, organs removed. Discovered and assassinated by a hunter who would become infamous and never revealed.
Margarete Boden, born 1910, Munich - German Empire
A classic beauty once Kthougna decided to slip into the material plane once more, settling herself, not with making a vessel to be within man’s world, but possessing.
The wife of a powerful soldier in the German Army, supporting his rise in the NSDAP and the rise of the SS. her husband soon became Reichsführer-SS, a high ranking official in the organization.
A suggestion of true blood, purification, and pride in being above the witches.
Pride disguised as Aryan blood.
She feasted upon it until her husband’s cyanide assisted death, Hans Himmler no more, yet her own death, slipping once more into the void.
Kaynia Clary, born 1990, Seattle Washington.
Kthougna arrived to the islands as any mortal would. It was easier this time, easier with the fake documents to show her age, her identification. Nothing like before, when there was no proof of faked dates of birth, merely arriving and then using knowledge of man to create a backstory of humanistic birth and life cycle. A vessel created, and a pride and challenge with the brilliance shade of red. The similar color that condemned the vessel once before.
No, here, she was well aware of the witch presence in this location, the call to come here, the call to find her own ilk and kind. Perhaps it made it easy for the demon to fall in with other demons, a similar goal in some ways, a distaste for it in others. The others, forgetting to know their place, forgetting true origins. Young demons unknowing what their purpose is, or how to handle their first time intermingling with man.
She was bored. So very bored, and at this time, she had no qualms against getting her hands dirty herself, no longer needing to whisper into a powerful man’s ear to have her chaos reign. She did not have to rely on earth's oldest profession, attach herself to power. She could have it herself, all that she wanted.
Yet this time, she was not alone. She had been followed, watched in the shadows of the void, watched close and afar. I curious Imp, if imps could hold enough conscious thought to be curious. Perhaps it just came from her and she was too blaise to notice. But the imp, a dark creature formed with comically long claws and ears. And it followed. Materially, it wore the skin of whatever creature it could grab, usually felines.
Kaynia had taken to calling it Mlutless, and it annoyed her greatly, regularly tormenting and harassing the creature simply because she could.
Frenzy (Over Feeding)
Avoidance/Injury from Aether beings (Nature Spirits/Lycans)
Too long on Material Plane
Summoning Other Demons
Vessel Possession and Creation:
Mlutless, an imp that follows Kthougna, though it serves no benefit, nor does it serve as a weakness. It is only capable of being an annoyance, or sending messages to other demons via telepathy. During combat, it grows defensive of Kthougna, giving minor physical attack and can be easily banished. It never stays gone for long however.
In Material Plane, it finds stray feline creatures to possess.
